Plant Visit to Quality Award Winner - Surface Mount Technology Ltd.
   

Organized by Institute of Industrial Engineers (Hong Kong), co-organized by Hong Kong Society for Quality , TQM Consultants Co Ltd and AHKEA, their members have visited  the Quality Award winner - Surface Mount Technology Limited (SMT) on March 22, 2003.

The Tour arrived SMT's Dongguan Tai Lang Shan plant at 9:30 am, after a welcoming tea provided by SMT, Dr. Chan Kei Biu, the Chairman and Managing Director of CMT presented the history, current status and future plans of SMT.  Then, SMT's Marketing showed the tour about their products, quality systems, information systems and production lines of few plants, etc..

A Q & A session was arranged after the plant tour, Dr. Chan answered all questions from the tour members, they were impressed by this well organized and successful company.

After the plant visit, the tour have had a nice lunch  hosted by SMT at Hoi Yuet Garden Hotel with a good networking hour.
