Innovative Product Development Assistance Scheme
Launching Ceremony
The Government has been encouraging Hong Kong Companies to develop
innovative ideas in product development and design, to support those
companies to pursue this objective, the Innovation and Technology
Commission of HKSAR has introduced a new Innovative Product
Development Assistance Scheme (IPDAS) under the Innovation and
Technology Fund effective on April 01, 2003.
AHKEA Executive Committees were invited to attend the launching
ceremony of the IPDAS on March 27, 2003 afternoon at the Hong Kong Design
Centre. An exhibition of some innovative consumer electronics
products designed and developed in Hong Kong was include in this
ceremony.
 
The ceremony was officiated by the Secretary for
Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr. Henry Tang. Mr. Tang
delivered a speech, announced this Innovative Product Development
Assistance Scheme and its objectives.
After Mr. Tang pressed the IPF button to signify the launch of IDPAS,
Mr. CH Ng, Chairman & MD of Suga International Holdings Ltd., and
Mr. Humphrey Leung, President & MD of SOLOMON Systech Ltd.
introduced those innovative consumer electronics products to
Mr. Tang.
