"Update on Regulations impacting Electronic Products "

European Commission introduces regulations to improve protection of human health and the environment by imposing more responsibilities on manufacturers. These regulations have an impact to importers and exporters. It is essential to have thorough understanding of these regulations.

We were proud to have three industry leaders in testing and certification services as our guest speaker. They are namely, Ms Miranda Lee, Technical Director, SGS, Dr. Dirk Von Czarnowski, Manager, TUV SUD Hong Kong and Dr Lee Siu Ming, Regional RoHS Manager, BV. They shared their views on the subject.

Around 6:45PM, guests and members started to arrive at the venue. We were glad to see the tremendous support from the industry and business associates. Each time we are seeing new faces. Meeting new friends, finding partners, reunion and enriching the latest industry news were the main purpose of the evening.


Guests arrive. They are exchanging business cards and taking photos.


The nice young lady - Alam Ng was manning the reception for the first time.

More members and guests arrive.





At around 7:30PM, guests are seated. The Hon. Secretary, Alan announces the dinner to be started. MY Wong, JP delivers the welcome address.






After 3 dishes, Miranda starts to update us on the RoHS around the globe. She illustrates a cross section of the latest situation on RoHS country by country.




The second presenter is Dr. Dirk Von Czarnowski from TUV SUD. The subject is Energy Using Product (EuP)..



The third presenter is Dr. Lee Siu Ming of BV. The subject is REACH.

The presentations earn thundering applause from the audiences. There are questions from the floor.

Alan announces 2 new members for the month. They are : iSolution Technology and Keenway Holdings. He invites guests to express their feelings and opinion. The next Networking Dinner will be on 25 May, 2007. The title is " Kick-off the SME Funded Project".

Last but not least, the lucky draw is drawn by MY Wong. Miranda is the winner for the prize sponsored by Dempa News Publishing Inc.

The dinner is ended at 10:20PM with cheers.
