Industry Day 2005 

An Industry Day for Internship Programs 2005, organized by the department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of HKUST, was held on April 30, 2005 morning at Lee Wing Tat Lecture Theatre, Academic Building, HKUST. This event provided a good opportunity for liaising with companies who plan to hire student interns, both for 3-month summer internship or 1-year internship.

AHKEA was invited to introduce the Association to their students. Chairman Mr. Robert Li, Secretary General & Executive Director Mr. Stephen Pong and HR Solution Group Committee Member Ms. Christine Choy attended this event.

The event started at 10:00 am. After a welcoming and opening remarks by Prof. Danny Tsang (Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering), Mr. Robert Li presented a speech about AHKEA, Hong Kong electronics industry updates,  the newly developed Student Membership in AHKEA, and invited those relevant students of HKUST to join as Student Member.  

During the session of  recruitment talks from industry, the following companies and representatives introduced their companies and opening position details:

• Mr. Calvin Ma, Technical Director, Outline Electronics Limited.

• Dr. Zuyuan FANG, Frank, Member of Professional Staff and Mr. Shau-ann Chang, R&D Director, Digital Home Technology, The Hong Kong Applied Science & Technology Research Institute Company Limited (ASTRI).

• Ms. Shirley Luk, Vice President, Product Development & Management, China Motion Telecom International Limited

• Mr. Jimmy Hsia, Senior Design Manager and Ms. Diana Leung, Human Resources & Administration Manager, Think Technology (International) Limited

• Mr. Martin Hui, CEO, SinoCDN Limited

Prof. Danny Tsang presented all presenters a souvenir, and announced the end of presentation session .

All participants were led to the Academic Concourse to visit the Final Year Project 2004-2005 Posters Exhibition & Demonstration and enjoy some refreshments.  After networking and group photo taking, the event was successfully ended by 1:30 pm.
