Dinner Gathering

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has
been organizing a "Confluence
Dinner Program" since 1998, which is a campus-wide
educational program organised for those undergraduate students to
broaden their exposures to community as well as to polish their
interpersonal skills. It also provides them opportunities to
learn from experienced persons, business leaders and professionals. Every
year, more than 4,700 undergraduate students from different years,
departments and schools have taken part in the program
By invitation of Student Counselor, Career Center,
Student Affairs Office of Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology, AHKEA's Vice-chairman Mr. Mark Lam, PR Solution Group
Chairman Mr. Alan Kan and HR Solution Group committee member Ms Christine
Choy attended their Confluence Dinner held at
the Campus Chinese Restaurant on April 27, 2005.
The reception began at 7:00 pm, we met Mr. Raymond Tang (Executive
Officer, Career Center, Student Affair Office), Ms
Cheryl Lee (Student Counselor, Career Center, Student Affair
Office), Prof. Danny Tsang (Associate Professor, Department of
Electrical & Electronic Engineering) and Prof. Oscar Au
(Associate Professor, Department of Electrical & Electronic
Engineering and Director, Computer Engineering Program/ Multimedia
Technology Research Center), the host Dr. Kwok Yue-Kuen, Hall
Warden/Senior Lecturer, Department of Mathematics), Ms. Joanne Wong
(Executive Director, Office of the Dean of Engineering), Mr. Edward
Au-Yeung (Assistant Physical Education Officer, Student Affairs
Office and Hall Manager) and other staff of HKUST, we briefly introduced AHKEA and Student
Membership that is newly developed.

The dinner started at 7:30 pm, we were allocated to
four different tables with students. The host Dr. Kwok welcomed all guests,
Alumni and members of HKUST joining the Confluence Dinner Gathering,
he introduced all guests from AHKEA and other industries, and the
purpose of organizing this Confluence Dinner Program.


During the dinner, we introduced ourselves and
discussed with those students on the same tables, answered questions
from students, and shared our experience that we learned from the
industry. Besides, when we introduced AHKEA and invited
them to join as Student
Member ,
they were very interested.
